South Lansing (MI) rocks as a place to live.
That seemed to be the conclusion of almost 40 southsiders who participated in a meeting tonight sponsored by the South Lansing Community Development Association at Grace United Methodist Church. The meeting was the second to help residents be full participants in the development of a comprehensive master plan for development.
Those attending seemed to represent a full complement of demographic categories young to senior citizen, African American, Caucasian and a variety of ethnic groups.
The highlight of the meeting were the small group table meetings where attendees discussed their vision for South Lansing in an ideal world. Then each table reported their conclusions.
Facilitator Michelle Napier-Dunnings received praise from everybody for keeping the meeting focused and for engaging everybody as a southside team. Here’s a video I took of the opening session with my Flip Mino camera-I will post more in coming days:
