What: Averill Woods Neighborhood Association Meeting
Date: Thursday, August 28th, 2008
Time: 7:00 to 8:30 p.m.
Place: Trinity AME, Corner of Averill and Holmes
Topics: (1) Gangs & Graffiti in Lansing, (2) Concerns about LPD Response, (3) Neighborhood Watch
Presentations:
· Gang specialists from Lansing Police Department and Michigan State Police will be on hand to answer our questions about whether or not we have a gang problem in Lansing, how big the problem is, where the problem is, and how to interpret the graffiti that has appeared in our neighborhoods.
· Officer Sara Nolen will be available to discuss forming Neighborhood Watch programs on your block.
· Lt. Yankowski, Lt. Nisotti, Capt. Syzmanski (and possibly others from LPD) will be there to hear citizen concerns about how LDP responded to recent events in our neighborhood and what can be improved.
We’ll have a lot to discuss this week folks! I hope you can attend. LPD has reached out to us in numerous ways in the past few weeks [see below]. I look forward to working with them to improve the safety of our residents. This should be a really helpful meeting!!
