Here’s the deal….
We’re going to make Averill Woods Neighborhood Association T-shirts and sweatshirts available for sale.
We’re hoping everyone in the family will want to order one and help spread the word about this fabulous neighborhood!
Here’s your chance to wear your neighborhood pride on your sleeve!
But we need some creative minds to help us design a recognizable “Averill Woods” t-shirt .
PRIZE: The creator of the winning design(s) will receive a free Averill Woods T-shirt based on their design(s).
CATEGORIES: You can enter in two categories:
(1) Catch phrase - Create a short statement or catch phrase that can be lettered on the back of the shirt and embodies the positive spirit of our neighborhood. This can be submitted as a text file or imbedded in email.
(2) Graphic - Create a graphic image with or without a catch phrase that embodies the positive spirit of our neighborhood. You can specify colors or black and white. This should be submitted as a .jpg or .png file.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: Entries are encouraged from youth and adults. The phrase or graphic needs to have broad appeal so that people of all ages and gender will want to wear it. It should be something that will outlast a current fad or trend. The phrase and/or image should be recognizable from a few feet away.
It should clearly identify “Averill Woods Neighborhood Association” and express a positive image of the neighborhood. Because we expect these could also be used on neighborhood watch patrols the background color of the shirts will be light for reflectivity purposes.
SUBMISSIONS: Entries are due by September 15, 2009. You may enter multiple submissios in one or both categories. Submissions become property of the neighborhood association. Please submit them to Melissa Quon Huber at hubermel at msu dot edu.
WINNERS: The submissions will be reviewed by the T-shirt design team consisting of youth and adults. Each design will be scored by all members of the team. The design(s) with the highest average score(s) will be chosen. (There will either be a winning graphic with catchphrase, or one graphic and one catchphrase.)
Members of the design team and their families may submit entries, but will not be allowed to rate those designs. The winning design will be announced at our meeting on September 24, 2009 and then relayed via email, blog, and press release.
